Berry Crush Blog Hop

Hey, quilting friends! It’s been quite a bit since I posted to my blog. If you remember back in April of this year I posted about the surgery I had for weight loss, and decided to take a break while I recovered. Well, the recovery is going great, and I couldn’t be any happier. So far, I’ve lost just over 100 pounds and have another 50 to go. I’m not in a big hurry to lose the additional weight, but will continue the journey, taking it one day at a time. However, I have to admit that I’m really excited about and enjoying fitting into my smaller clothes and being able to move around with ease and less pain.

Just a few days after surgey, spending time with my oldest son.

September of this month.

Now on to my latest quilting news. I was asked by an Island Batik and Lumin Fabric Ambassador if I wanted to participate in her very first fabric launch, and I’m pretty sure you all know what my answer was… “of course!!!”

Jennifer Thomas has created her first fabric line and needed a few designers to make a quilt using these fabrics. Jennifer let everyone that signed up pick out the fabrics that they wanted to use for their quilts, and then was kind enough to send the fabrics to us at no cost to us. What a deal!!! For which I’m very grateful.

The fabrics I chose arrived along with a blender fabric from Island Batik. I asked for 3 (1) yard cuts from the new Berry Crush line and then set out to pick the perfect 3 yard quilt pattern that would show off Jennifer’s fabrics; I picked the Dream Weaver pattern by Fabric Café.

After cutting and piecing the fabrics together it was time to send it off to be quilted. Yes, I still quilt by check, lol. Susan Zubillaga in Texas is my go-to longarm quilter. Good luck trying to pronounce her last name! I can say it correctly but I never get the spelling right! But I did this time because I looked it up on FB! Thank goodness for a life line!

The colors I chose are from the Berry Crush line – Dogwood-Fossil Tosse, #712540490, Sage-Multi Pink Purple, #712542816, and Tree-Multi Red Pink and Tea Rose, #712541873.

I hope you enjoy this quick and easy 3 yard quilt made with Jennifer Thomas’ new fabric line with Island Batik and Lumin fabrics.

Here are a few other quilts that were made/designed with this new line of fabrics.

Please look for the list of makers on FB as they continue to post and share their creations.

I have no idea why my post went under another profile (coolsensationally2c967aae3c). It is me, Tori.

What a beautiful fabric line and all our favorite pinks and purples. I love the Fabric Cafe pattern you chose to showcase the fabrics.

  5. I was able to change my profile settings and get rid of that unknown user name. Strange. I hope this works…
