Exciting news!

What a great couple of days except for not finishing the elephant quilt but life happens. I will finish it just not on the time, date I set for myself.

Now on to the exciting news. My sissy who is actually my best friend from kindergarten and I were having a conversation about the new travel machine she just bought for herself.

She sews on a beautiful Phaff machine with all the bells and whistles. She ended up not liking the travel machine and as we were talking about it, I told her because her skill level was beyond the travel machine and that she was lucky to have such a nice machine and how I would die if I had a machine that did everything.

Now let me back up a bit. I have had several different types of machines and came to the realization that I loved the Berninas.

I bought myself a B325, I just wanted something that sewed a great straight stitch and it does, but I didn’t want all the bells and whistles. At the time I was strictly paper piecing and didn’t need all of the extras.

Covid hit and I did my first mystery with Deb Heatherly and fell in love. I could make blocks and they would come out just as nice as if they were paper pieced. I felt so free and creative and just realized that I can be good at traditional piecing and loved it.

So now back to my conversation with my sissy. I said that I would kill to have a Tula Pink limited edition Bernina and my sissy said what is that?

I entered Tula Pink into Google to get a picture to text it to her as we were on the phone.

The first machine that came up I sent her the picture, we talked about why it was so special to me and I said “because Tula designed it and they don’t make very many” then I said look at the rainbow colors and how pretty they are.

We finished our conversation and hung up the phone, she went back to her day and I went back to sewing on the elephant.

My sissy and I talk most days about an hour each time. We talk about everything and anything, we laugh together, cry together and in general just support each other in any way we can.

The next day come and I laid down for a bit because I was cold and she sends me a text that says I am in your driveway. I say “no your not”, but sure enough she was. She had gone and returned the travel machine and bought a Tutto bag and new rolling chair and came to show me. Mind you we live over an hours drive of each other.

Little did I know that she bought me a new chair also. I had one but the wheel kept falling off and this new one raised up really high and had a ring at the bottom for your feet.

She knows that I am not good with “new” things, so she sat in the chair while playing with my dog Koa and rolling all over the kitchen, so it would be used. Lol

Next day she is calling again and we are just talking and she says “what are you doing today”? My answer was just staying home and sewing. So I asked her what she was going to do and she said that she was waiting for fed ex to drop off a package and running a few errands.

Time goes by, I am taking a nap, do you see a pattern here? She text me again and says I am in your driveway, again I say no your not, she replies with open the door and look.

I get up, open the garage and she is standing there with 2 Bernina boxes. All I could say was, no you didn’t. Oh yes she did. She bought me that Bernina that I sent a picture of to her. I honestly didn’t even know the model that I sent her.

So now I am the new owner of a Tula Pink B570QE, and a new chair. I am one very lucky person to have her in my life. And I love the machine,

The next day I am driving to a class I am teaching and fell apart crying in the car. I had just realized what she had done. Not only did I get a beautiful, to die for machine, but she also opened up a new world for me with another revenue stream doing embroidery.

I own two etsy shops and one is for items that I create, sew and sell, now I can add custom embroidery to my orders. I was blown away. I never wanted an embroidery machine because I was afraid to learn it, but when I stopped to realize all of the possibilities I looked at it in a different way.

I am forever grateful to have the most giving and loving sissy in my life, who can see my needs when I can’t and has the means to make them a reality. That really is true love at its best.

Thank you sissy, I love you! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›

Can you say to die for Tula Pink machine.

With my sissy in my corner I can’t go wrong. Love you ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›
